Barista Cafe Supervisor

Job Description Job Title: Café Supervisor Location: Irvine Pay: $25-$30/hr Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Position Overview: The Café Supervisor plays a key role in supporting the Café Manager with daily operations. The goal is to deliver a memorable experience for guests by ensuring excellent service, high-quality food and beverages, and a welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities: Guest Experience: Provide consistent quality in beverages and food through effective selection, quality control, and seasonal adjustments. Communicate and update menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch. Ensure a welcoming atmosphere by maintaining a clean, organized, and comfortable café environment. Team Management: Review and supervise daily tasks, delegating responsibilities to staff to ensure readiness for service. Train new team members, reinforce standards, and offer constructive feedback. Address employee relations issues professionally and promptly. Assist with staff scheduling and provide maintenance training as needed. Operational Duties: Update POSI register software and café website with weekly menus. Manage inventory of coffee, milk, snacks, beverages, and supplies; place orders as necessary. Oversee inventory for Avanti market areas at offsite locations. Plan and prepare for daily catering and lunch orders, coordinating with kitchen staff. Review daily sales reports and submit to Accounting. Customer Interaction: Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, including ingredients. Highlight and market café items, making recommendations based on customer purchases. Handle guest concerns with professionalism and resolve issues efficiently. Maintain a positive demeanor and effective communication with guests. Compliance & Safety: Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Ensure compliance with all café policies and procedures. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Café Manager. Minimum Qualifications: Proficiency in computer skills for menu typing, product signage, and presentations. Demonstrated positive customer focus and ability to lead a team. Strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and enthusiasm for service. Capability to manage stress, multitask, and effectively manage time. Valid Food Handler’s card or Serv Safe certification. At least two years of supervisory or management experience. Education: High school diploma or GED. Physical Requirements / Work Environment: Primarily works behind the café counter with close proximity to co-workers. Noise level in the café can be loud. Requires long hours of standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, and wiping. Ability to lift and move objects up to 30 pounds. Requires dexterity in fingers, hands, and arms for various tasks.
