Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• 
  Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit, ensuring safety and optimal recovery.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust vasoactive medications like levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, and dobutamine as needed.
  
  
• 
  Perform procedures such as temporary pacing, chest tube management, arterial line placement, and removal.
  
  
• 
  Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse and communicate effectively during bedside handoffs.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with the mobility team and utilize advanced equipment, including GE Monitors, Hamilton Bipap, and Baxter IV Pumps.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to hospital protocols and state certification requirements, maintaining timely completion of shifts and assignments.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid RN license with at least 2 years of current experience in a critical care or stepdown setting.
  
  
• 
  Proven expertise in telemetry and titrating vasoactive medications.
  
  
• 
  Certification in BLS and ACLS required.
  
  
• 
  Ability to perform arterial access, chest tube management, and temporary pacing procedures preferred.
  
  
• 
  Strong assessment skills, adaptability, and excellent communication abilities.
  
  
• 
  Comfortable working in a fast-paced cardiovascular environment with new equipment and technology.
