Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department seeing approximately 170–200 patients per day, managing diagnoses including cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, respiratory conditions, abdominal pain, and mental health presentations
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 for standard acuity and 1:4 for low-acuity patients across a department with up to 56 beds, including fast track and dedicated triage areas
• Manage ER holds within the 18-bed designated holding area, coordinating care with inpatient RNs who may float to the ED for hold assignments
• Collaborate with ED Techs, CNAs, RT staff, monitor technicians, and in-house security to deliver safe, efficient patient care
• Utilize Epic EMR for all documentation and patient management
• Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements based on unit needs, including working holidays in November and December

Required Qualifications

• Active Washington State RN license or valid Compact RN license
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• TNCC certification required
• PALS or ENPC certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a larger trauma or emergency department setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a trauma center environment with high daily patient volumes
• Familiarity with triage workflows and the ability to pass a triage competency assessment
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Experience reading telemetry strips in an emergency department setting
