Field Service Technician

Field Service TechnicianField Service Technician located in Phoenix, AZ will perform installation, commissioning, electromechanical troubleshooting, repair/adjustments and modifications to GE high voltage circuit breakers, disconnect switches, capacitor banks. Maintain tooling and test equipment that are assigned to the region to ensure serviceability and calibrated. Support GE Vernova regional sales staff to increase customer satisfaction.Essential ResponsibilitiesRemote service location in the Phoenix Arizona area.Perform installation and initial starts-ups.Perform mechanical work in electrical substations.Inspect equipment, structures, and materials at designated sites to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defectsServices, repairs, and adjusts, parts of equipment that operates largely based on mechanical principlesAnalyzes information and evaluates results to select the best solution and resolve customer issuesPerforms physical activities that requires considerable dexterity and agilityOperate man lifts and reach fork truckSupervise and give direction to contractors, customer personnel and junior GE field techniciansComplete paperwork in a timely and accurate manner including field service reports, timecards and expense reportsInterface between the GE and customerRequired QualificationsAssociate's degree in electrical and or mechanical technology or a highly related fieldMinimum of 2 years of experience manufacturing (preference given to field experience)Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawingsAbility and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time within the US and abroad via air travel and car rentalDesired CharacteristicsPreferred experience in troubleshooting & repair of electrical control circuitsPreferred experience in mechanical assembly of circuit breakersGE Vernova offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
