About Permian Straddling West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico, the Permian is the most prolific oil and gas basin in America and the engine behind the country's energy renaissance. Nationally, it provides about 40% of oil and 15% of gas production and plays a critical role in making the U.S. a leading energy exporter. The merger of ExxonMobil and Pioneer creates an Unconventional business with the largest, high-return development potential in the Permian Basin. The combined company's more than 1.4 million net acres in the Delaware and Midland basins have an estimated 16 billion barrels of oil equivalent resource. In 2023, we produced, on average 612,000 barrels a day in the Permian Basin, and we're aiming to produce 1 million barrels per day from our Permian assets by the end of 2027. Investments in infrastructure from New Mexico to the Gulf Coast enhance logistics and integrated value. We've advanced gathering and processing facilities, including the Cowboy central delivery point. Integration maximizes resource development through to fuels, lubes, and chemicals. The Permian Basin business unit also has the distinction of being the first at ExxonMobil to unveil and execute a plan for net zero Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions in operated assets by 2030, as part of the Corporation's broader 2050 net zero ambition. What role you will play in our team As an Automation Technician on our team you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of instrumentation and automation systems for ExxonMobil Oil and Gas operations. - Install, commission and maintain controls, electrical and instrumentation equipment in compliance with piping and Instrument Diagrams
- Test and repair electrical and instrumentation systems utilized by production and control equipment to ensure adherence to Control Narratives and Cause & Effects
- Proficient in controller logics, networking and HMI design
- Evaluate electrical systems and instrumentation to establish plans for repair, perform preventative maintenance and record changes to facility designs
- Capable of interfacing with, troubleshooting and repairing various control and networking devices
- Works daily with Operations, Engineering and various Organizational groups to meet safety, environmental and production goals
- Ability to plan daily work activities in accordance with established Company and Regulatory procedures
- Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) effectively
- Ability to operate hand tools or other equipment to accomplish assigned tasks
- Demonstrate ability to maintain a consistent safe work ethic
- Be able/willing to attend and complete required training courses
- Be able/willing to work in small team environments
- Be able/willing to work in various locations, both indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
- Must possess a valid driver's license and utilize safe driving skills
- 5 years of experienve as an IC&E Technician or an Associate's Degree in Instrumentation Controls or Electrical Syatems
- Understand the process of Oil Field Delivery Systems from Well Pad to Tank Battery to Central Delivery Points and Saltwater Disposal System
- PLC proficiency including lader logic, Modicon, Allen Bradley, Fisher ROC and IDEC etc.
- Experience with Rosemount Transmitter and Hart protocol a plus, and knowledge of control valves and piositioners
- Knowledge of PID control loops
- Able to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
