Join our nationwide multidisciplinary team of providers! Position Summary This role is patient-facing and can require working in a clinical setting. It is customer-facing with high expectations for operational excellence. This position is part of the VBA MDE (Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations) program. The Vendor schedules Veterans at contracted clinical facilities and embeds practitioners in facilities as needs warrant. Dedicated facilities are located in areas where there is a large Veteran population with the potential for high volume. Key Competencies Attendance and punctuality is necessary. Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team as well as problem solve, and be self-motivated are also required. Must have excellent written and oral skills, strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Expected to have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions. Able to work independently with little or no supervision. Role Specifics/Medical Assistant Perform EKGs, PFTs, phlebotomy and other labwork/specimen collection, visual acuity screening, vital signs, other clinical tasks as assigned by leadership or licensed provider Labs will be sent to LabCorp or Quest for testing Training will be required and offered by the client for all staff members performing PFTs EKG manuals are available on-site so staff are familiar with the equipment we use Greet the Veterans and show them to the exam room Report any no-shows to the client Keep the facility tidy and organized Skilled in utilizing EMR and MS Office Suite software applications Administrative duties: Responsible for routine and basic front and back-office duties, to include answering phones, scheduling, and confirming appointments (if needed), preparing schedules, data entry (including referral contracts, post appointment information), prefill, document retrieval, filing, performing data entry, and assisting in the examination process of patients under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider. Inventory Management: Manage supply inventory and elevate gaps as quickly as possible. Other Duties: Assist with other duties of the site, including administrative work and any other duties as assigned during downtime. Work Environment This job operates in a healthcare setting. The role routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Physical Demands The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., handling (holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand or hands), fingering (picking, pinching, fine manipulation), sitting, standing for long periods of time, and walking. Seeing and hearing alarms and settings during and after business hours and responding according to training and procedures. Setting and resetting devices with small knobs and handles. Requirements Position Requirements Education & Experience: Associate degree in Medical Assisting and/or graduation from an accredited vocational Medical Assistant program, and/ or military equivalent. If required by state of operation: Maintains unrestricted and in good standing certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). Phlebotomy Certification from accrediting training course, when required by state requirements. Active/Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation. Valid U.S. Driver’s License and ability/willingness to drive between work locations, if applicable. Minimum of four (4) years of relevant clinical experience (i.e., Primary Care, Family Care, Internal Medicine, Occupational Health, or Urgent Care). Willingness to complete CAOCH and Drug Testing Collection Certifications. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Veterans, Service Members and Federal Employees. Previous experience performing EKG, PFTs, ABIs, venipuncture, lab processing, etc. Current certification in Audio and Drug Testing Collection. #ZR #J-18808-Ljbffr
