Calibration Technician

Calibration TechnicianProtean Instruments (located in Knoxville TN) is seeking a detail-oriented Calibration Technician who can balance hands-on technical work with essential clerical responsibilities. This role is responsible for calibrating and maintaining instrumentation while also supporting documentation, recordkeeping, and administrative functions within the department. The ideal candidate is both technically capable and highly organized, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.Key Responsibilities:Perform calibration of electronic test equipment and instrumentation according to established proceduresAccurately document calibration results and maintain organized records and certificatesIdentify out-of-tolerance conditions and escalate or recommend corrective actionsTroubleshoot and perform minor repairs on instruments as neededMaintain calibration schedules, logs, and compliance documentationEnter calibration data into internal systems and ensure data accuracyAssist with filing, report generation, and document controlCoordinate with internal teams to track equipment status and service timelinesSupport audit preparation by ensuring records are complete and accessibleProvide general administrative support to the calibration and quality teamsQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred1–3 years of experience in calibration, electronics, or a related technical fieldStrong attention to detail in both hands-on work and documentationProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Ability to manage both technical and administrative tasks efficientlyBasic understanding of electronic principles and measurement techniquesStrong organizational and time management skillsJob Type: Full Time, In PersonBenefits:401(k) and 401(k) matchingDental, Vision, and Health InsuranceFlexible Spending AccountLife InsurancePaid time offLMI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
