Community Engagement & Program Coordinator (Part-Time)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client is seeking a passionate, organized, and community-focused Community Engagement & Program Coordinator to help expand resources, services, and opportunities for individuals with disabilities throughout North Alabama.

This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, coordinating meaningful programs and events, engaging community partners, and supporting initiatives that create positive impact. The successful candidate will serve as a key connection between consumers, volunteers, donors, community organizations, board members, and staff while helping ensure programs run smoothly and effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Engagement & Outreach:

Build and maintain relationships with community partners, businesses, volunteers, donors, and local organizations. Represent the organization at community events, outreach activities, and networking opportunities. Assist with public awareness campaigns, community engagement initiatives, and partnership development. Support marketing, public relations, and communications efforts that increase awareness of available services.

Program Coordination:

Coordinate program activities, schedules, participant records, attendance tracking, feedback collection, and follow-up communications. Assist with program planning, implementation, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts. Support grant compliance and program documentation requirements.

Events, Fundraising & Resource Development:

Assist with fundraising campaigns, sponsorship outreach, grant research, and donor communications. Coordinate event logistics, volunteer support, and promotional activities. Help prepare grant proposals, reports, and fundraising materials.

Communications & Administrative Support:

Update website content, social media platforms, email campaigns, and marketing materials. Maintain accurate records, databases, and CRM information. Provide administrative and front-desk support as needed. Ensure timely and professional communication with consumers, families, community partners, and stakeholders.

IDEAL CANDIDATE TRAITS

Strong communication & organization skills, exceptional attention to detail, customer service mindset, technology skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a passion for serving individuals with disabilities.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe, Wix, CRM tools, social media, and email marketing platforms.

Reliable transportation and ability to travel within North Alabama for activities are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

H.S. diploma/GED required; associate degree or two years of college in communications, nonprofit management, marketing, public relations, human services, social work, or a related field preferred.

3 years' experience in nonprofit services, disability services, communications, marketing, program coordination, administration, or related is preferred.

Event planning, social media, grant writing, reporting, community engagement, and disability-resource experience desired.
