Laboratory AssistantHealthPartners/Stillwater Medical Group is hiring for a Laboratory Assistant. Responsibilities include: Perform Laboratory procedures according to established clinic guidelines and other relevant regulations. All programs and activities are designed to support the short and long term mission, goals and objectives of the Stillwater Medical Group. This position is expected to support the mission, goals and objectives of the Stillwater Medical Group.Qualifications:Education:High school diploma or G.E.D.Phlebotomy Certification preferred.Current CPR certification preferred.Medical Assistant program preferred.OSHA TrainingSkills required:Advanced organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishProven ability to manage multiple priorities daily.Knowledge of health care fieldSkill in performing assigned tasks appropriately; tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactionsAbility to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures; to project a pleasant and professional image; plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks; demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others; apply written instructions and standardized work practices; communicate clearly; and establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients and families.Experience required:A minimum of one year customer service experience preferably in health care settingProven ability to manage multiple priorities dailyDuties & Responsibilities:A. Function Job Specific Duties:Laboratory:Obtains blood and non blood specimens for laboratory testingEnsures specimen requirements and integrity are metVerifies proper patient identification and correct specimen labelingCompetently and accurately completes specimen testing for Moderately Complex LaboratoryPerform quality assurance testing as required by State and Federal agenciesPerforms EKGs and Spirometry functionsDocumentation according to State, Federal and Clinic guidelinesRecognizes and resolves problems caused by collection or instrumentation problemsParticipates in proficiency testingFollows infection control policiesGeneral:Responsible for developing and maintaining an environment which supports favorable patient/public/employee relationsAdheres to the Stillwater Medical Group guidelines as explained in the handbookIs flexible in meeting unusual Clinic and Department needsCompletes 100% of mandatory educationMay be assigned to assist in training new hires or transfersCompletes billing informationPresents a clean and organized work areaPerforms other duties as assigned
