Experienced Clinical Nurse

The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an RN license and at least twelve months of recent RN experience in medical/surgical or an acute care setting. The candidate must be available to work the Day/Evening shift (7am 7pm), or the Evening/Night shift (7pm-7am) with rotating weekends and holidays required.

G16 Leukemia is a specialized inpatient unit providing comprehensive care for patients with hematologic malignancies, including leukemia. Hematology patients are hospitalized for supportive care during active, aggressive high-dose chemotherapy/biotherapy and cellular therapy through a wide range of morbidity related symptoms, as well as re-hospitalization for treatment side effects. Leukemia care includes diagnosis, induction, consolidation, maintenance chemotherapy and symptom management, as well as salvage therapies for relapsed disease.

Hourly breakdown of salary range: Minimum $32.70 - Midpoint $50.00 - Maximum $67.30

Trains, coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.

Education Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. Education Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing would be a plus. Experience Required: Must have at least one year of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting. Licenses/Certification Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Licenses/Certification Preferred: Certification in oncology or other nursing specialty. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
