MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, a leading academic medical center and part of the MedStar Health system, is seeking an outstanding Board-Certified/Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join our Department of Surgery. This is an exciting opportunity to practice in a dynamic clinical environment while contributing to education, innovation, and research in one of the nation's premier teaching hospitals.

Position Highlights

Clinical Focus: A mix of elective general surgery (including abdominal wall, foregut, hernia, and complex abdominal procedures) and acute care surgery (emergency general surgery).
Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team committed to delivering the highest quality surgical care in the region.
Academic Engagement: Serve as faculty for Georgetown University School of Medicine, teaching medical students and residents in one of the most respected academic training programs in the country.
Call Coverage: Shared call schedule for acute care surgery.

Qualifications

MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program.
Board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery.
Demonstrated clinical expertise in general surgery, acute care surgery, foregut, abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia repair preferred
Commitment to academic medicine, teaching, mentorship, and research.
Eligibility for medical licensure in the District of Columbia.
