Role Overview
Apply advanced chemistry expertise to produce authoritative explanations and high-quality answers that train next-generation AI systems. In this fully remote contractor role, you will convert deep subject-matter knowledge into clear written and verbal content that guides model learning, reasoning, and performance. Prior AI experience is not required; what matters is your chemistry expertise and ability to communicate complex ideas precisely.
Key Responsibilities- Produce authoritative, accurate responses to advanced chemistry queries for AI model training, emphasizing depth and clarity rather than simple scoring or rubric-only answers.
- Review and assess chemistry data, questions, and solutions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current best practices.
- Develop comprehensive explanations, justifications, and contextual notes across a wide range of chemistry topics, including foundational and specialized material.
- Collaborate with annotation leads and project managers to refine response requirements and quality standards.
- Create and document exemplary "golden responses" to serve as benchmarks for future model outputs.
- Participate in occasional remote discussions or workshops to clarify project goals and maintain domain alignment.
- PhD in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of chemistry, with familiarity across subfields such as organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and materials chemistry.
- Strong scientific writing ability and clear verbal communication skills.
- Experience producing or reviewing educational, research, or technical chemistry content, for example publications, curriculum, peer review, or industry reports.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in scientific communication.
- Prior experience contributing to AI, data annotation, or digital content projects is a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in remote and cross-functional project environments.

- Occasional remote meetings or workshops are expected as part of the project collaboration.
- No prior AI experience required, domain expertise is the primary requirement.
- Hourly pay range, 80 to 90 per hour.
- Paid as an independent contractor on an hourly basis.
- Must hold a PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field.
- Must be able to work remotely as an independent contractor and meet any applicable local work authorization or tax requirements.
