Express Employment Professionals — Covina, CA — is partnering with a local manufacturing company in City of Industry, CA to add a seasoned CNC lathe expert who can program, set up, run, and troubleshoot modern turning equipment to exacting quality standards.
A day in this roleYou clock in at 6:30 am, review the traveler and blueprints, and translate GD&T into toolpaths. You load material into a HAAS ST‑20Y with a bar feeder, dial in offsets, and prove out your own G‑ and M‑code. As the first parts come off, you verify dimensions with micrometers and calipers, make fine adjustments, and keep the machine cutting. When something’s off—be it tooling wear, a programming quirk, or a setup variable—you diagnose and correct quickly to maintain throughput and quality.
What you’ll handle- Write/modify CNC programs, set up workholding and tooling, and operate CNC lathes
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to produce precision components
- Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, and other precision gauges
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and programming issues to resolve root causes
- Monitor quality during production runs and adjust offsets and parameters as needed
- 4+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience on turning centers
- Fluent in G‑code/M‑code, tool selection, setups, and offset management
- Confident reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Preferred: Experience on a HAAS ST‑20Y with bar feeder
- Preferred: Background with live tooling and bar feeders
- Pay: Depending on experience
- Hours: Mon–Fri, 1st Shift, 6:30 am – 3:00 pm, with OT
