Cafe Mado
Cafe Mado is seeking an experienced, warm, and professional Host to join our team! Cafe Mado is a neighborhood restaurant from Redwood Hospitality, the team behind Place des Fêtes and Oxalis. Located on Washington Avenue in Brooklyn, Cafe Mado serves dinner six nights a week and brunch Friday through Sunday, with a seasonal food and beverage program centered around thoughtful sourcing, warm hospitality, and a strong sense of place. We are looking for a Host who is naturally hospitable, organized, and comfortable being the first and last point of contact for our guests. The Host plays an important role in setting the tone for the restaurant and maintaining the flow of service throughout the day. This position includes managing reservations and walk-ins, communicating with guests before and during service, coordinating closely with the dining room team, and helping maintain an organized and welcoming front door. The right person is confident making decisions in the moment, enjoys getting to know our regulars, and understands how much small details can shape a guest's experience. The ideal candidate has:
- 1+ year of Host experience in NYC or another major city
- Strong working knowledge of Resy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to stay calm, organized, and thoughtful during busy services
- Strong problem-solving skills and good judgment
- A natural ability to develop relationships with guests
- A great memory for names, faces, and guest preferences
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to communicate clearly with the service and management teams
- A flexible schedule with open weekend availability
