Power House Mechanical EngineerThe Power House Mechanical Engineer is an entry-level engineering position responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of the facility's Power House and utility systems. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, technicians, and Power House personnel, this position will gain hands-on experience with critical plant utility systems including boilers, steam, compressed air, cooling water, water treatment, nitrogen, vacuum systems, pumps, piping, and related mechanical equipment.This position works closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, EHS, contractors, and equipment vendors to assist with troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment improvements, system monitoring, and engineering projects. The ideal candidate is a motivated, hands-on individual who is interested in developing their mechanical engineering skills within a manufacturing and industrial utility environment.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist with engineering support for Power House and facility utility systems, including boilers, steam systems, compressed air, cooling water, water treatment, nitrogen, vacuum systems, pumps, piping, valves, heat exchangers, and related equipment.Learn the operation and function of critical Power House and plant utility systems and how they support manufacturing operations.Assist experienced engineers and Maintenance personnel with troubleshooting mechanical and electromechanical equipment issues.Collect and analyze operating data such as pressure, temperature, flow, equipment performance, energy consumption, and other utility system information.Assist with identifying root causes of equipment failures and recurring mechanical or utility system problems.Support the development and implementation of corrective actions and equipment improvements to increase reliability, efficiency, safety, and equipment life.Assist with the installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair, and modification of Power House and utility equipment.Apply basic mechanical engineering principles including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials science to manufacturing and utility applications.Assist with monitoring boiler and steam systems, including steam generation, distribution, condensate return, pressure control, and associated equipment.Support compressed air, nitrogen, vacuum, cooling water, and water treatment systems to help maintain proper operating conditions.Assist Maintenance technicians with troubleshooting pumps, motors, compressors, valves, piping systems, heat exchangers, and other mechanical equipment.Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance activities for critical Power House and utility equipment.Assist with identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency, water usage, equipment reliability, utility performance, and operating costs.Support engineering and capital improvement projects involving Power House and plant utility systems.Assist with developing scopes of work, equipment specifications, layouts, drawings, and other technical documentation.Work with contractors, vendors, technicians, and internal departments during equipment installations, repairs, and system modifications.Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, technical manuals, and P&IDs with guidance from experienced team members.Assist with maintaining engineering drawings, equipment documentation, maintenance information, and project records.Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities related to equipment failures and utility interruptions.Develop knowledge of industrial controls, instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and automated systems associated with Power House equipment.Follow all company safety policies, procedures, environmental requirements, and engineering standards.Perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsEducation & ExperienceAssociate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Electromechanical Technology, or a related technical field required; bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field preferred.Recent graduates and entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.Previous professional engineering experience is not required.Internship, co-op, technical school, maintenance, manufacturing, or other hands-on industrial experience is preferred but not required.Candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude and relevant technical education will be considered.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesBasic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mechanics, and materials.Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in industrial equipment and utility systems.Basic knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, piping, compressors, or other mechanical equipment preferred.Ability and willingness to learn industrial boilers, steam systems, compressed air systems, cooling water systems, water treatment systems, nitrogen systems, and vacuum systems.Basic ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.Familiarity with AutoCAD or other 2D/3D engineering design software preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Basic understanding of PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, sensors, or industrial control systems is a plus.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Ability to learn new equipment, technologies, processes, and engineering concepts.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, operators, contractors, vendors, and other departments.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.Willingness to work in a hands-on manufacturing and Power House environment.Preferred QualificationsCoursework, internship, co-op, or hands-on experience involving mechanical equipment, manufacturing, utilities, maintenance, or facilities.Exposure to boilers, steam systems, compressed air, pumps, piping, water treatment, cooling systems, nitrogen, or vacuum systems.Familiarity with preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, or root cause analysis.Exposure to AutoCAD or similar engineering design software.Basic understanding of automation, PLCs, HMIs, or industrial instrumentation.Interest in developing a career in Power House operations, industrial utilities, facilities engineering, or manufacturing engineering.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and move throughout manufacturing and Power House areas.Ability to bend, reach, twist, stoop, and climb stairs or ladders as required to inspect equipment.Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Ability to safely work around industrial machinery, piping, utility equipment, and elevated-temperature systems.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a combination of office, manufacturing, and Power House environments.Exposure to industrial equipment, boilers, steam systems, piping, pumps, compressors, elevated temperatures, and high noise levels.This position provides significant hands-on learning opportunities within an industrial manufacturing environment.Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required in designated areas.EEO StatementGiti Tire Manufacturing (USA) Ltd. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
