Forward Deployed Product Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Forward Deployed Product Manager based in the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused product professional to help transform complex customer support operations through advanced AI-powered solutions. You will manage a portfolio of growth accounts, lead product deployments, and ensure customers achieve measurable business outcomes from intelligent customer service automation. Working closely with engineering teams and customer stakeholders, you will translate operational challenges into practical solutions that improve efficiency, customer experience, and business performance. You will take a hands-on approach to investigating issues, building, testing, and deploying product improvements using AI-powered development tools. A key part of the role involves empowering customers to manage and optimize their own AI workflows while identifying opportunities for account expansion. You will also bring customer insights back to the product team to help shape future developments and solve recurring challenges at scale. • Customer Deployment and Implementation: Lead end-to-end deployments for assigned customers, collaborating with Forward Deployed Engineers and customer stakeholders to define implementation plans, establish priorities, and align on measurable success criteria.

• Account Management and Growth: Own a portfolio of growth accounts after launch, monitoring product performance, adoption, retention, and usage against contractual commitments while identifying opportunities to expand existing partnerships.

• Product Configuration and Optimization: Investigate customer challenges, identify opportunities to improve AI-powered customer support workflows, and independently build, test, and deploy solutions into production in collaboration with engineering teams.

• Customer Enablement: Train and empower customer teams to build, test, and optimize their own AI-powered support workflows, enabling them to become more autonomous and achieve increasing value from the platform.

• AI-Powered Problem Solving: Use available AI tools and development agents to analyze issues, investigate conversation logs, test solutions, and accelerate implementation without depending on engineering resources for every change.

• Business Development and Expansion: Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders, identify new use cases, develop business cases for additional deployments, and demonstrate how further automation can improve operational outcomes.

• Cross-Functional Product Collaboration: Communicate customer needs, recurring challenges, and improvement opportunities to the Product team, supporting prioritization and following key initiatives through to delivery.

• Customer Performance and Value Delivery: Monitor deployment effectiveness, identify opportunities to improve automation quality, and ensure solutions align with customer policies, business objectives, and operational requirements.

• Scalable Solutions and Continuous Improvement: Recognize patterns across customer accounts and help develop reusable solutions that reduce repetitive work, improve implementation efficiency, and strengthen the overall customer experience.

Requirements

• Relevant Professional Experience: At least two years of experience owning customer outcomes in account management, customer success, consulting, implementation, product management, operations, or a related field. Demonstrated accountability for results is more important than a specific job title.

• Customer Relationship Management: Proven ability to establish trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders, understand their business priorities, and contribute to customer retention and account growth.

• Startup and Scale-Up Experience: Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where processes are still being developed and individuals are expected to take initiative and adapt quickly.

• Practical AI Experience: Hands-on experience building with AI tools or deploying AI-powered solutions, with the ability to evaluate their effectiveness, understand their limitations, and explain what has worked in practice.

• Technical Problem-Solving: Ability to investigate technical and operational issues independently by working with API documentation, conversation logs, usage data, and other relevant information.

• Product Implementation and Adoption: Experience helping customers or colleagues realize measurable value from complex products through implementation, configuration, training, and continuous improvement.

• Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify root causes, evaluate potential solutions, prioritize opportunities, and connect product improvements to measurable customer and business outcomes.

• Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with customers, engineers, and product teams while translating complex requirements into actionable plans.

• Ownership and Initiative: A proactive, resourceful approach to managing multiple accounts, solving problems, and delivering results without waiting for detailed instructions.

• Preferred Industry Experience: Experience in fintech, healthcare, or another regulated industry is advantageous, particularly in environments where accuracy, security, and compliance are critical.

• Additional Advantages: Experience contributing customer insights to product roadmaps or deploying AI products that have delivered measurable business results is a plus.
