DEPARTMENT: Human Resources - 94000 REPORTS TO: EHS Director – North Las Vegas Plant Manager FLSA STATUS: Exempt LOCATION: North Las Vegas, NV JOB SUMMARY: The EHS Specialist will partner directly with site Operations leaders to drive EHS ownership and accountability. This role is intended for people with3 or more years' HSE experience who have deep knowledge of applicable regulations, root cause analysis, and an ability to work independently in high-risk scenarios. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist in administering and building upon mandatory safety training for the plant to ensure compliance and ensure employees, temporary employees, and transferred employees receive proper training Assist in the injury/illness and near-miss incident investigation process, review reports, and follow up asnecessary Perform risk assessments of site operations to determine risk and implement defenses to protect employees from uncontrolled risk. Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potentialhazards Assist in/drive the development of equipment-specific lockout tagout procedures and standard workinstructions. Prepare reports, present safety recommendations, and maintain correspondingaccounts Assist in implementing effective risk management solutions andplans Ensure employees operate in a safe, orderly, and cleanenvironment. Provide information and assistance to the safety committee and serve on thecommittee Member of the First Aid/CPR Responder/ERTteam Manage occupational injuries and illnesses from time of injury through full return-to-work ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPAstandards Must understand and follow all departmental safetyrules Understand Safety DataSheets(SDS) Knowledge of ISO Management Systems (14001 and45001) QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Manufacturing, Environmental, or related technical discipline.
