Job Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred; first timers are accepted.

License: Georgia RRT License required.

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required.

Must-Have: Trauma experience required; pulmonary function testing (spirometry) preferred.

Description:


The position requires managing non-invasive ventilation and conventional ventilation.


Aerosol therapy and bedside pulmonary function tests are essential components of the role.


The therapist will perform arterial lines, oxygen management, and patient education.


Additional responsibilities include performing arterial blood gases and capillary blood gases, as well as drawing from lines.


The patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics, with a primary focus on adult RRT but includes working with intubated pediatric patients.


The facility is a level 2 trauma center and interventional stroke certified.


It also houses a level 3 NICU, which serves as the regional transport resource.


Travelers are expected to work on holidays as defined in the requirements.


Compliance to all onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time.


Floating may be required within the facility and sister campus as needed.


Weekend coverage is mandatory every other weekend unless specified otherwise.


Daily census and patient ratio details are dependent on unit needs.


Preferred experience with specific equipment such as Viasys Vela and GE Carescape is an asset.


The role may involve interdisciplinary support, including respiratory services and rapid response teams.


Special procedures may include managing aerosol setups and tracheostomy care.


High-pressure alarm troubleshooting and weaning from mechanical ventilation are also responsibilities.


Overall, the role is vital in providing quality respiratory therapy and support for critical care patients.
