Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a hospital Surgical Services position requiring BLS, CST certification, and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Surgical Services department supporting General OR and Ambulatory OR cases
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• May occasionally float to the Hospital Outpatient Department (HOPD/ASC) on the same campus
• Call required approximately 4-5 days per month, including weekends
• Supports a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, robotics, thoracic, and urology procedures
• Requires experience with an electronic charting system

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or military training as a scrub tech
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• CST certification required (NBSTSA); license required if applicable
• Minimum of 1 year of recent relevant experience
• General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, and equipment
• Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

• Assist surgeons in a variety of surgical procedures to ensure quality patient care
• Establish and maintain sterile fields, including sterile tables, tools, and patient draping
• Select, prepare, and inspect supplies and equipment for each surgical procedure
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe operating room environment before and after procedures
• Perform clerical duties such as updating patient electronic health records and documenting supply inventory
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information in compliance with facility and regulatory standards
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
