Service Technician

The Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles for Nissan Newport News. This role requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
• Test drive vehicles to assess performance and identify problems
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and correct vehicle malfunctions
• Complete repair orders and maintain accurate documentation

Requirements:

• Prior experience as an automotive technician
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Valid driver's license

Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies. Test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment; test drive vehicles. Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems. Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Complete online multi-point inspection report. Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

• Must have at least 2 years of experience as an auto technician
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
• Fast learner
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good customer service skills

• Computer literate
• Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Valid driver's license
