Software Engineering Sr Manager - Building Management Services (BMS)

About this roleWells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead the Building Management Systems engineering organization within CAO Technology. This leader will be accountable for the strategy, engineering, modernization, reliability, security, and operational support of BMS technology across retail branches, administrative locations, and data centers. The role will partner with business, infrastructure, cyber, network, risk, and vendor teams to deliver secure, resilient, scalable platforms that support critical building operations.In this role, you willOwn the BMS technology strategy, roadmap, priorities, and execution in alignment with business and enterprise technology objectives.Lead and develop software engineers, and technology professionals while building organizational capability, accountability, succession, and team resilience.Drive platform modernization, cloud adoption, automation, observability, DevOps, CI/CD, and Site Reliability Engineering practices.Oversee engineering and lifecycle management for BMS platforms, building technologies, edge devices, and IoT solutions, including third-party products and services.Ensure technology solutions meet architecture, cybersecurity, risk, regulatory, availability, resilience, performance, and scalability requirements.Partner with Corporate Properties, Infrastructure Engineering, cyber, network, risk, and business leaders to establish priorities, resolve dependencies, and deliver commitments.Establish engineering standards and use operational data to improve delivery, reliability, efficiency, and decision-making.Manage budgets, workforce plans, resources, vendors, and strategic sourcing in alignment with technology priorities and financial objectives.Drive remediation of vulnerabilities, end-of-life technology, operational risks, issues, and corrective actions.Represent CAO Technology in senior forums and communicate strategy, delivery status, decisions, dependencies, and risks clearly.Required qualifications7+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.3+ years of management or leadership experience.5+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale technology platforms, applications, or services.3+ years of experience leading modernization, cloud, platform transformation, or integration initiatives.Desired qualificationsExperience supporting Building Management Systems, facilities technology, building operations, edge devices, or IoT platforms.Experience integrating enterprise applications with monitoring, facilities, API, event-driven, or IoT platforms.Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, platform engineering, automation, observability, DevOps, Agile, and SRE practices.Experience leading complex, cross-organizational technology initiatives and geographically distributed engineering teams.Experience working in a highly regulated environment with strong cybersecurity, risk, and compliance requirements.Experience managing engineering budgets, vendors, strategic programs, operational risk, and technology lifecycle commitments.Strong executive communication, stakeholder influence, decision-making, and talent development skills.Job expectationsAbility to work onsite in Charlotte, North Carolina, in a hybrid work environment per company policiesAbility to travel up to 10% as needed.Posting End Date: 25 Sep 2026*Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.We Value Equal OpportunityWells Fargo is an equal opportunity employer.
