Job Title

Registered Nurse – PACU (Travel Contract)

Location

San Antonio, TX | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM | No on-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct post-anesthesia nursing care within an 18-bay adult PACU setting
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratios during the first 30 minutes post-procedure or when patient requires ICU level of care ; transition to 2:1 ratio when patient is stable
• Adhere to unit requirement that 2 RNs must be present in the PACU at all times when a patient is present
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Magic EMR
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to support night case coverage as the unit transitions to 24/7 staffing
• Demonstrate proactive, team-oriented approach in a fast-paced perioperative environment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (must meet state requirements for Texas)
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Demonstrated ICU level of care competency
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) certification
• TCAR certification
• Experience with Meditech Magic EMR
