CNC Machinist II-Mill Turns - Weekend PM

Position Summary The CNC Machinist II produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; and maintaining equipment and supplies. The role requires the above within Tecomet's principles of continuous improvement, customer‑driven innovation and a win‑first culture while meeting financial and other performance metrics. Mills Turn Weekend AM shift Perks Competitive Pay Grow and Learn Support When You Need It Health Coverage Right Away Inclusive Culture Work-Life Harmony Principle Responsibilities Operate and set‑up CNC machines within specified tolerances following work instructions and machine programs and engineering drawings. Perform difficult CNC machining work, including progressive machining of various parts and metals where tight tolerances must be maintained. Change dull tooling and/or make minor offsets and adjustments as needed for tooling wear. Ensure product quality by working to operator‑owned quality (OOQ) standards and using measuring equipment. Perform routine maintenance as per daily machine checklist and adhere to PM schedule. Perform hand finishing. Always follow Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Practices (GMP/GDP) including completion of job routers/cards. Ensure safe working practices are carried out to minimize risks, including reporting safety, health & environmental issues. Achieve set productivity targets and identify ways of improving productivity. Record all activities timely on the job tracking system. Identify and support continuous improvement activities. Escalate manufacturing issues to the team leader and/or supervisor, participating in resolution as required. Maintain 5S/housekeeping standards within work area. Perform other duties or special projects as required or assigned by supervisor. Qualifications High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 3+ years CNC machining experience. Preferred Associate's degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship preferred. Experience working in a production environment, preferred. GCSE/NVQ Math and English desirable (UK only). Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Ability to operate, set up and maintain a CNC machine. Ability to run multiple CNC machines. Solid math skills, including measuring and record keeping. Effective at planning, prioritizing and organizing tasks within specified timeframes. Ability to follow work instructions. Proven record of quality, on‑time production runs. Commitment to safety at all times. Attention to detail, ability to perform repeatable tasks over a prolonged period. Positive attitude, reliable, team player. Ability to identify problems and elevate as required. Good communication skills, written and verbal. Solid computer skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
