Position Summary
This faculty position provides collegewide leadership and coordination of articulation, curriculum alignment, and transfer-related agreements with higher education institutions to support student transfer and achievement. The Articulation Officer serves as the college's official articulation authority, coordinating the faculty-driven articulation process and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely publication of articulation agreements and transfer pathways in ASSIST and related statewide systems.


This is a full-time, 198-day (11-month annual contract) tenure-track faculty position in the Student Services Department. This tenure-track assignment will begin Fall 2026.


Consistent with the professional standards outlined by the California Intersegmental Articulation Council (CIAC), the Articulation Officer functions as the liaison between receiving institutions and appropriate Allan Hancock College disciplines addressing issues related to transferability of courses by developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with discipline faculty, counselors, staff, administrators, and transfer partners.

Essential Functions and Qualifications
Under the direction of the Vice President, Student Services, the position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and maintain a comprehensive articulation program, including procedures, policies, and campus efforts related to statewide initiatives such as C-ID, ASSIST, Cal-GETC, UC Transfer Course Agreement (TCA), Associate Degrees for Transfer, and Transfer Model Curriculum (TMC) alignment.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for articulation between Allan Hancock College and UCs, CSUs, CCCs, private, and out-of-state colleges/universities, as well as participate in professional organizations, like CIAC, and regional articulation meetings and statewide initiatives.
  • Consult regularly with the Academic Policy & Planning Committee, administrators, and department chairs on articulation issues, including curriculum design, review, revision, and development to support effective transfer preparation and articulation strategy.
  • Participate in and provide technical review during the curriculum review process, assessing articulation implications, validating transferability, and providing feedback through the curriculum management system.
  • Develop and maintain TAAs and Cal-GETC approved course lists; manage ASSIST and C-ID submissions; and evaluate courses and external exams (AP, IB, CLEP) to ensure accurate and timely articulation updates, catalog entries, and reports.
  • Coordinate and strengthen partnerships with instructors, counselors, department chairs, staff, and administrators to support articulation processes and establish transfer agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with other institutions.
  • Collaborate with the Transfer Center and related programs to support accurate student advising and transfer initiatives for underrepresented students.
  • Act as a collegewide resource on articulation, transfer pathways, and curriculum alignment by providing training, materials, and guidance to faculty, administrators, and staff, and proactively supporting timely, informed curriculum and articulation decisions to support student transfer success.
  • Maintain currency in articulation policy through professional development, conferences, and statewide collaboration.
  • This assignment may include activities on evenings and weekends at any college site.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution OR the equivalent, meeting California Community Colleges faculty minimum qualifications in any discipline AND
  • Sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ability, and ethnic backgrounds of our community college students.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with or knowledge of California community college curriculum requirements and regulations including C-ID and TMC requirements; California articulation systems including ASSIST and COCI; and appropriateness to community college experience.
  • Experience in transfer-related work at a California Community College.
  • Understanding of classroom equity and its relationship to course outlines of record and the curriculum process.
  • Demonstrated communication and leadership experience and ability to work effectively with faculty through shared governance and other college processes.
  • Experience or interest in learning technical computer software including but not limited to ASSIST (both public and maintenance); CurriQnet; Transfer Evaluation System (TES); and Banner.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage complex, deadline-driven work.

The hiring salary range is $75,534 to $110,343 dependent upon education and experience.
