Job Description Software Engineer - R&D Location: Mountain View, CA (Hybrid) About the Role We are seeking a Software Engineer for our R&D team at Commure, responsible for taking emerging technology from inception to impact. You will scout new capabilities (frontier LLMs, browser agents, self-improving agent harnesses) and productionize them for healthcare. The full arc includes research, productization, delivery to customers, and ownership until graduation. What You'll Do Build infrastructure that orchestrates, evaluates, and runs sub-agents, including channel adapters for intelligence flow Work with cutting-edge technology: chain tool calls across LLMs, deploy browser agents, build self-improving harnesses, and turn prototypes into production tools Take technology from first principles to production: research, build into a product, ship to customers, and own through graduation Establish best practices for code quality, testing, deployment, and observability Collaborate with product managers, designers, and clinical experts to ship intuitive solutions for real clinical environments What You Have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience Professional software engineering experience (high-growth or startup environment preferred) Strong fullstack skills: Python (required) on backend, JavaScript/React on frontend, Docker and Kubernetes knowledge Hands‑on experience integrating LLM APIs or building AI‑powered features in production Track record of driving work from early ideation to successful production deployment Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills with demonstrated resourcefulness Strong communication skills – comfortable with both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders (including clinical teams) Experience in fast‑moving environments where shipping quickly is the norm Compensation
