Extrusion Operator

SUMMARY: Perform all essential Extrusion functions and, as directed be able to perform a wide variety of Mill operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary function is to participate in all capacities in the effective operation of the Extrusion Press. Perform all operations as it would relate to billet cutting and loading, stacking tooling and loading, catching, block busting and processing material once extruded. Must be able to perform a wide variety of Mill operations such as but not limited to pointing and setting up and drawing and straightening materials. Will assist in training of new employees when required. Will adhere to Companywide safety policies and practices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six to twelve months related experience and/or training.

MATHEMATICAL and/or COMPUTER SKILLS : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use basic shop math. Knowledge of computer operation and related software required.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to cany out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram fo1m. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Operate forklift truck (will be licensed in accordance with OSHA power industrial truck operator requirements.)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 10lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. with the use of jib cranes and other moving and lifting devices.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation details: 23.92-26 Yearly Salary
