Project Coordinator

M.J. Whelan Construction is an established and growing Design/Build company specializing in custom homes and residential renovations. We are looking for an experienced Project & Selections Coordinator to join our team.

This is an important client-facing role that helps guide homeowners through the selections process while keeping projects organized, on schedule, and within budget. The right person will be highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple deadlines, and great at communicating with clients, designers, vendors, trades, and our construction team.

What You'll Do

• Manage homeowner selections, allowances, budgets, and deadlines for custom homes and renovation projects.
• Guide clients through the selections process and help keep decisions moving forward.
• Prepare estimates, contracts, purchase information, and change orders related to project selections.
• Work closely with our design, sales, estimating, project management, trade, and vendor teams.
• Track selections and deliverables to help keep projects on schedule and manage customer expectations.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with homeowners throughout the selections process.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and coordinate product information, samples, pricing, and availability.
• Identify potential issues early and work with the team to find solutions.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.

Qualifications include:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in residential construction, remodeling, design, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of residential interior and exterior finishes and the construction selections process.
• Interior design experience and a strong eye for design are a huge plus.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and details at once.
• Strong customer service and people skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Detail-oriented, process-minded, and thorough.
• Comfortable working with budgets, pricing, estimates, and change orders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning construction/project management software.
• Ability to improve or create processes and procedures is a plus.
