Location: BayHealth Hospital – Kent Campus, Dover, DE

Department: KENT Microbiology

Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Pay: $32.03 – $49.64/hour

Sign-On Bonus: $12,000 with a 2-year commitment

Start Date: August 27, 2026

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support daily operations of the Microbiology laboratory section .
Perform medical laboratory testing accurately and within required turnaround times.
Assist the supervisor/manager with workflow, staffing, and real-time task assignments.
Serve as a resource for technical problem-solving and may act as supervisor when needed.
Handle specimen processing, testing, result reporting, and critical value notification.
Monitor quality control, proficiency testing, calibrations, and instrument performance.
Maintain inventory, reagent logs, supplies, and coordinate equipment service.
Train staff and students and assist with competency assessments and performance evaluations.
Ensure compliance with laboratory, safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
Assist with developing, validating, and implementing new laboratory procedures.
Review patient results, QC data, statistics, and performance improvement reports.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science/medical laboratory field.
Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) required.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a high-complexity laboratory.
Microbiology experience is required.
Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control, and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

5 years of relevant Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician experience preferred.
Additional certification related to the position is a plus.
