Job Title: ProAVL Lead Technician

Location: Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania

Salary: $32-$36/hr plus overtime

Summary

The ProAVL Lead Technician serves as a primary technical resource for ProAVL projects, with responsibility for control system programming, system commissioning, and field-based technical design solutions. This role supports project teams by answering technical questions related to system connectivity, functionality, and implementation while helping ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

The position requires extensive travel, primarily throughout the U.S. East Coast, including out-of-area and overnight travel. Travel is expected to exceed 75%. Use of a personal vehicle for business travel will be reimbursed at the IRS mileage rate.

This position reports to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on ProAVL systems, including questions related to connectivity, functionality, programming, commissioning, and system performance.
• Design and develop ProAVL system solutions that align with client requirements, project needs, and applicable industry standards.
• Perform control system programming, ProAVL systems commissioning, and field-based technical design support.
• Train, guide, and mentor new programmers and commissioning agents to support continuous improvement and technical development across the team.
• Partner with sales, project management, and engineering teams to support coordinated project execution.
• Conduct site surveys and technical assessments to collect information needed for system design, installation planning, and project delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while providing expert recommendations to clients and internal team members.
• Maintain current knowledge of ProAVL technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
• Follow direction from the ProAVL Team Lead while onsite.

Required Qualifications

• Experience performing the essential responsibilities and demonstrating the competencies required for this role.
• Four or more years of experience in a technical lead installation and support role, including strong knowledge of AVL installation standards and systems.
• Four or more years of experience in one or more of the following areas: control system programming, theatrical rigging, audio system tuning, lighting programming, or video wall commissioning.
• CTS-I required within one year of employment.
• InfoComm CTS required within one year of employment.
• Class C passenger vehicle driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Intermediate proficiency with general computer systems and Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
• Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak clearly and persuasively, listen effectively, and seek clarification when needed.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret a wide range of technical instructions presented in mathematical or diagram form and manage both abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to travel more than 75%, primarily throughout the U.S. East Coast, including out-of-area and overnight travel.

Preferences

• Industry certifications such as InfoComm CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I.
• Experience with networked AV solutions and related protocols, including Dante, AVB, and similar technologies.
• Familiarity with control system programming platforms and systems such as Crestron, Extron, AMX, and similar technologies.
