Fire Sprinkler Inspector

Inspectors are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines as well as similar competitive manufacturers’ product lines. What we offer Competitive pay 10 days of vacation first year Comprehensive benefits package including 401K, medical, dental, and vision care available day one Extensive cross‑training opportunities with outstanding internal resources Encouraging and collaborative team environment Zero Harm policy through safety dedication Employee discount programs (The Loop by Perk Spot) Responsibilities Meet customer expectations while performing quality inspections Accurately discern and document deficiencies found during an inspection Professionally represent the company at all times Complete Service Acknowledgement/inspections with proper coding through communicating devices such as laptop computers, smartphones, and/or hardcopy Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected Complete assigned inspections on time Perform other duties as directed Carry or move equipment and tools weighted up to 70 lbs and be capable of performing physical labor Assist foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre‑action, and deluge sprinkler systems Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high‑lift equipment Be enrolled in Grinnell’s approved Apprenticeship Program, maintaining all requirements of the Apprenticeship Standards Have a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent Able to obtain and retain any licenses required by National, State and Local codes Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics and operational/product manuals Experience with hand tools and multi‑meter usage Capable of performing physical labor including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs Ability to work in unusual and difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. Ability to work flexible hours, including on‑call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements Willing to travel out of town Demonstrate a high level of customer service Ability to adhere to and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly Possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $23.07 - $31.73 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
