Hardware Design Engineer West Chester, OH, US Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 per year Experience Level: Mid Level Responsibilities Develop and implement hardware designs for a variety of applications using VHDL or Verilog, RTL, FDGA, and ASIC development tools. Perform simulations and testing using ModelSim, QuestaSim, and testbenches to validate hardware designs. Create and optimize data paths and control logic to ensure the efficiency and reliability of hardware systems. Develop and manage interfaces using Xilinx, SPI, and UART. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware with software and firmware components. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware design issues, implement corrective actions, and improve design methodologies to prevent recurrence. Document hardware design processes, specifications, and test results to maintain a comprehensive record of hardware development activities. Stay up-to-date with the latest hardware design trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve hardware design processes and deliver high-quality products. Qualifications Must have a 4-year degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Needs 4–10 years of experience working with embedded systems (small computer systems inside machines); experience can include internships or co-op work. Proficiency in hardware design and development tools, including VHDL or Verilog, RTL, FDGA, and ASIC development tools. Experience with hardware simulation and testing tools, such as ModelSim, QuestaSim, and testbenches. Knowledge of data paths, control logic, and interfaces, including Xilinx, SPI, and UART. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve complex hardware design issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
