Job Title: Electrophysiology Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Electrophysiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10H Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Illinois RN license required Certifications: BLS (AHA) required Must-Have: - Negative drug screen for all panels - Ability to provide patient care appropriate to the ages of the patients served Description: The Electrophysiology Registered Nurse provides care in the Electrophysiology Lab. The nurse assists physicians with specialized procedures under sterile technique. Responsibilities include preparing examination areas and positioning patients for procedures. The nurse operates complex radiology equipment in accordance with established techniques. The nurse assists physicians as necessary by passing materials and taking exposures as directed. The department features two procedure rooms. Daily procedure volume ranges from five to ten per department. The department operates Monday through Friday. The RN to tech ratio is approximately 6 RNs to 5 techs. Weekend call is required on Saturdays from 8 AM to 1 PM, rotating among staff. The cancellation policy allows for client-initiated cancellations up to 12 hours every 13 weeks. The electronic charting system used in the department is EPIC.
