At Freight Force, we're people-first and invested in our team members, ensuring they are the most highly trained, tech-savvy, and customer-centric individuals.The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing assigned customer accounts, securing timely payments, resolving billing disputes (adjustments), and maintaining accurate account records. This position works closely with customers, carriers and internal departments to resolve disputes, reduce past-due balances, and support overall collections performanceManage assigned accounts and prioritize collections by aging, balance, risk, credit limits, and payment historyCollect payments in accordance with company policies and established termsContact customers by phone, email, and other communication methods regarding past-due balancesNegotiate payment arrangements while protecting the company's financial interestsResearch and resolve billing, short-pay, deductions, and invoice disputesReconcile account activity and paymentsMaintain accurate, detailed, timely collection notes and account documentationEscalate high-risk accounts according to company proceduresAchieve established collection and productivity goalsProtect confidentiality of customer and company financial information3+ years in collections, accounts receivable, or customer account management preferred; transportation and logistics experience a plusStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal teamsComfortable working with financial information, aging reports, and account-management systemProficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel) is requiredExperience with ERP/accounts system preferredCompensation Range: $20.19 - $28.82A list of STG benefits can be found here: Welcome - STG Benefits Program 2026Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, geography, and other job-related reasons.The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounter while performing this job's essential functions.
