Job Full Description

Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for our Jamestown, NY client. Our client is looking for a full time Staff Accountant.


The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and reconciliation functions to support the organization's financial operations. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Staff Accountant I


Candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field and two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR
• An Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field and four (4) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.

Staff Accountant II


Candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field and three (3) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR
• An Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field and five (5) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, including demonstrated competency in progressively responsible accounting functions. One (1) year of this experience may include successful performance at the Staff Accountant I level with performance evaluations indicating that expectations were met or exceeded.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and post journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses.
• Monitor financial activity to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Support budgeting, auditing, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and reporting issues.
• Assist with special projects and financial analyses as assigned.
• Perform additional accounting and bookkeeping duties as required.

Hours are M-F 8 am to 430 pm and the pay is $21.76/ hr to start.
