PROCESS ENGINEER | WABASH CASTINGS

Wabash, Indiana | Wabash Castings LLC, a division of Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry At Wabash Castings, our Process Engineer is more than a desk engineer. You’ll be the technical problem-solver connecting engineering, CAD, operations, quality, and the foundry floor to turn good designs into good castings. If you’ve spent years looking at a casting and thinking, “I know why that happened and I know how to fix it,” this could be your next move. WHAT YOU’LL OWN Reviewing and approving gating and pattern designs Working with CAD on MAGMASOFT simulation results and process improvements Partnering directly with foundry foremen and supervisors on green sand and air-set jobs Investigating casting defects and troubleshooting quality and porosity issues Leading efforts to reduce scrap on high-loss jobs Participating in daily MRB reviews and driving corrective actions Supporting new-job sampling and launch activities Assisting with RFQs, quoting, and process development Developing and improving process sheets Participating in lean manufacturing and cost-reduction initiatives Serving as a hands‑on technical resource throughout the plant THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF… You have real foundry experience and understand that the best engineering solutions don't always come from behind a computer. You can: Read and understand process sheets Inspect castings and cores Investigate casting defects and identify root causes Understand gating, pattern design, and porosity Communicate technical information clearly with operators, supervisors, and engineers Walk onto the foundry floor and work through a problem with the team Turn a scrap problem into a process improvement WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR High school diploma 5+ years of foundry experience Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Your work directly impacts casting quality, scrap, cost, customer satisfaction, and production performance.
