Foam Operator – Machine Operator The Foam Operator performs the function of machine operator as part of the door manufacturing process. The role is responsible for daily reporting of production and scrap, routine tracking of machine and foam specifications, chemical calibrations, and routine equipment maintenance. Responsibilities Operate the automate Seimpelkamp foam system on the manufacturing line. Accurately complete daily production and scrap reporting. Complete daily checklists, recording information such as temperature settings and foam density checks, to ensure identification of issues that may prevent maximum machine productivity and product quality expectations. Perform calibration of the chemicals used within the process. Complete routine maintenance of equipment. Coordinate the work of associates performing operations that follow the foaming process. Perform basic functions on a computer. Communicate with the line leader performance to schedule, quality performance and any barriers to production or quality performance. Compare actual measurements to specifications and determine if finished product is acceptable quality. Read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule format. Read and interpret blueprints. Operate forklift, power pallet jack or manual carts or pallet jacks to unload, move or store materials. Follow work instructions and pay attention to details. Follow safety and PPE procedures and report violations to supervisor, leads, and/or to safety. Achieve/performs daily targets and output of production. Meet quality standards for the line. Follow work practices that are in the guidelines of OSHA standards. Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules and ISO requirements. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 5s requirements, rules, and regulations. Be able to work required overtime as needed. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Qualifications Strong team communication skills and ability to work with little direct supervision. High level of dexterity and skill to assemble doors, perform visual quality checks, and comprehend construction specs. Previous manufacturing experience but not required. Must be able to communicate in English (reading and writing not required). Basic math skills with ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), and knowledge of fractions and decimals. Ability to read a tape measure accurately. Ability to compare actual measurements to specifications and determine if finished product is acceptable quality. Read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule format. Work in a team environment; good interpersonal skills. Adapt quickly and effectively to change.
