Elders Inn Is Looking For A Cook!

Pay Rate- $22.30 per hour

We are looking for a full-time cook working 2 days breakfast (6:00am-2:30pm), 2 days dinner (10:00am-6:30pm)

This position works a rotating schedule of 4 days on, 2 days off

(4-on, 2-off means everyone works some weekends and everyone gets some weekends off)

Job Summary: The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality and delicious meals to our residents and guests. This individual will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment to ensure that all meals are prepared and presented according to our company's standards. This is a full-time, hourly position in the hospitality/restaurant industry located in Alameda, California. Compensation & Benefits: As an individual contributor, the Cook will receive a competitive hourly wage of $22.30, paid biweekly. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook menu items in a timely and efficient manner, following recipes and presentation guidelines provided by the company
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including all cooking equipment and utensils
• Monitor food inventory and communicate any necessary restocking needs to the kitchen manager
• Ensure all food is stored, cooked, and served at the appropriate temperatures to maintain safety and quality
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain smooth and efficient operations during meal service
• Follow all food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents and guests
• Provide exceptional customer service, responding to any special dietary requests or concerns
• Assist with meal service/plating in the dining rooms (we serve meals family style)

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required, culinary or hospitality education preferred
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar setting
• Knowledge of various culinary techniques and cooking styles
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
• Current COVID-19 vaccination
• Routine COVID tests
• Fingerprint clearance from the FBI and Dept of Justice
