Position Summary:The Buyer position requires a talented, entrepreneurial, and driven individual who strives to source and purchase components using the most modern and cost-competitive options available. This role reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager.Position Responsibilities:Sources within commodity strategies to ensure cost, quality and delivery targets are achievedSupports product development team through on-time sourcingAchieves best in class pricing and builds supplier relationships through fact-based negotiationManages Procurement team’s deliverables for select program launchesCoordinates activities involved with procuring goods, such as raw materials, tools, parts and supplies to support the company’s needsMaintains and improves departmental proceduresCollaborates with suppliers and cross-functional colleagues to determine the root cause of supply disruptions and implement appropriate corrective actionsOther duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university in a related field of study3-7 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment; electronics background desirableExperience in applying analytical skills to negotiate successfully with supplierDemonstrate ability to take the initiative in a dynamic, cross-functional environmentExperience sourcing products in Asia a plusAdvanced understanding of Microsoft Office products as well as ERP systemsExcellent communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels inside and outside of the organizationThe base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $49,300 - $63,200.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
