Management | Tempe Arizona, United States Job Description PHI Health is seeking a Communications Supervisor to execute daily supervisory functions for the Communications Center. This role manages staffing, oversees training and quality control, maintains technical equipment, and coordinates flight-related communications. The position offers a sign‑on bonus of up to $10,000. Responsibilities Perform daily supervisory functions, including scheduling, staffing, annual assessments, daily communication with staff, new‑hire training, material and equipment management. Provide on‑call support for departmental issues occurring outside normal office hours. Coach and mentor Communication Specialists and perform duties as a communications specialist when coverage is insufficient. Maintain and verify the quality and accuracy of all communication center‑related transport documentation. Maintain technical equipment such as telephone/radio recorder and coordinate maintenance with contract vendors. Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external customers, especially requesting agencies’ communications staff and management. Create and maintain statistical information and reports as required for the Director. Collect information, perform price quotes, and coordinate details for long‑range flights. Perform flight coordinator duties as required. Create and maintain all CQI needs for the Communication Center/shift. Provide training and education for the Communication Center/shift. Participate in program‑level CQI meetings and prepare data and discussion points. Facilitate and coach preceptors through the training process of individual Communication Specialists. Monitor the training process of Direct‑Report Communication Specialists to ensure a solid, standard foundation of knowledge for any new Communication Specialist. Perform other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications Minimum three years experience as a communications specialist, with extensive EMS experience or equivalent preferred. Minimum one year supervisory experience preferred. Creative, efficient problem‑solving skills and ability to function under pressure. Good human relations and communication skills for interfacing with all levels of internal and external customers. Extensive working knowledge/experience of radio/medical terminology strongly preferred. Intermediate knowledge and proficiency with computer systems (hardware and software) and office equipment. High school diploma or GED. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to pass pre‑placement drug screening and background screen.
