Position Type: Teachers/ Teacher Date Posted: 1/5/2026 Location: All Schools Closing Date: Until Filled Salary: Starting at $56,157 (commensurate with experience) Reports to: Building Principal Essential Job Functions Plans and delivers an instructional program to students, consistent with school district goals and objectives. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and promotes student learning, while managing student behavior. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize available instructional time. Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student needs. Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or conducting research. Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents. Manages the behavior of learners in an instructional setting to ensure an environment conducive to the learning process. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state statutes and local policies, regulations, and guidelines related to public schools. Qualifications Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in the appropriate subject area. Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. Demonstrated ability in decision making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships, and planning. Minimum Education & Certification Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Must be eligible or possess a valid Collegiate Professional License from the State of Virginia.
