Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery, and a 24‑hour emergency department located in a state‑of‑the‑art hospital. A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) diagnoses and treats conditions that affect one’s ability to communicate and swallow. As an expert in communication, the SLP assesses, diagnoses, treats and prevents speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders from birth through old age. SLPs help patients improve speech, open new communication possibilities, and improve comprehension, expression, social communication, and safe swallowing. This dedicated, collaborative team aims to advance clinicians’ skills while supporting patients during their healing journey. A PRN caregiver in this position works 8‑hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with flexibility on start/end times. The schedule is flexible. A minimum of four weekend days per eight‑week period and one major and two minor holidays per year will be required. Floating across all Martin Health sites will be required as needed. Responsibilities Evaluate patients and apply a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with functional limitations, impairments, and disorders. Provide, interpret, plan, and supervise patient evaluations and treatments in accordance with physician referrals, ensuring the care, safety, and wellbeing of the patient. Continually review the plan of care and make revisions as needed. Prepare progress reports on all treatments in conjunction with departmental policies and procedures and report to the physician as needed. Instruct and counsel medical staff and family members to assist the patient in treatment techniques. Perform voice evaluations, treatment of various voice disorders, and bedside swallow evaluations. Demonstrate competency with the MBSs for adults and pediatrics. Follow Code Blue and all protocols as per Clinic policy. Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by the Joint Commission. Qualifications Master’s, Doctorate, or SLP‑D Degree from an accredited School of Speech‑Language Pathology. Registered in the State of Florida. Current Speech‑Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech‑Language Pathology & Audiology or eligible. Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA). Externship experience.
