Job Title

Travel RN – Trauma Stepdown (Night Shift)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Projected Start: October 19, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed Surgical Trauma Stepdown unit with a 1:4 patient ratio (1:5 maximum)
• Care for patients requiring acute surgical intervention or post-operative monitoring, including trauma, bariatric, vascular, orthopedic, neuro/spine, and general surgery cases
• Monitor and manage patients with neurological diagnoses (CVA, TIA, TBI, altered mental status), cardiac dysrhythmias, sepsis, respiratory distress, and other complex medical conditions
• Administer and monitor IV drip therapies including Heparin, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and other vasoactive or anticoagulant agents
• Perform telemetry monitoring and complete patient assessments every four hours per unit guidelines
• Float as needed to stepdown service lines, including Progressive Care and Heart and Vascular units

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Strong customer service and communication skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior trauma or orthopedic nursing experience
• Experience with Meditech EMR
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with a team-oriented approach
