Job Summary Receives, rotates, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats. Assists in merchandising seafood, rotisserie chickens, prepared foods, and cheeses. Provides assistance to Members by answering questions and recommending products. Maintains all cleaning and safety standards within the meat department. Responsibilities Receive, rotate, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats Assist in merchandising seafood, rotisserie chickens, prepared foods and cheeses Provide assistance to members by answering questions regarding meats, poultry and seafood; make recommendations as needed Weigh, package, wrap and label cuts of meat, poultry and seafood, including ground products Assist meat cutter in packaging freshly cut meats and seafood; may grind hamburger meat Inspect and store meat upon delivery; ensure it meets company quality standards Ensure all delivered meat meets or exceeds company quality standards Ensure meat, seafood, prepared foods and cheese cases are fully stocked Rotate products according to expiration dates; dispose of damaged or expired items per guidelines Received and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures and area in the meat department, including cooler, freezer, refrigerated display cases Maintain all club policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed Maintain a regular, predictable, full attendance Resolve and deescalate member concerns, ensuring safe and positive environment Daily commitment to GOLD Member Standards: Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate (GAA); Fast, Friendly, Full, Fresh, Clean Work with commitment and pride to deliver GOLD-Grand opening look daily Ensure all items stocked and promotional plans executed Maintain visible accurate signage; keep area clean and organized inside and out Know your business: understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for your department Qualifications Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats preferred Knowledge of automatic or hand wrapping machines preferred Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department preferred At least 18 years of age Job Conditions Most of the time spent moving frequently on hard surfaces Requires bending, pulling, reaching, stooping and occasional scanning of merchandise Frequently lifts objects up to 30 pounds; may lift heavier objects with assistance Work in indoor area with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises May encounter cleaning agents occasionally Pay Range The salary range for this position is $17.25 - $20.70 per hour; actual salaries vary with location, education, experience and qualifications.
