Portfolio Manager & Associate Advisor
Horizon Wealth Planning of Raymond James
About Horizon Wealth Planning
Horizon Wealth Planning is a financial planning and wealth management firm focused on helping clients make wise, well-informed decisions with their financial resources.
We believe people develop through money, not for money.
That means financial planning is not only about helping clients accumulate more. It is also about helping them navigate decisions in a way that is consistent with their values, responsibilities, faith, and the person they believe God is calling them to become.
Our approach combines comprehensive financial planning and investment management with a deeper focus on decision-making, behavior, stewardship, and how financial choices affect a client’s broader life.
The Associate Advisor & Portfolio Manager is a hybrid investment-management and financial-planning role.
Approximately half of the position is dedicated to helping run and maintain the firm’s investment models and client portfolios. The other half is focused on financial-planning analysis, client preparation, and advisor support.
A significant part of the role involves monitoring investments and market conditions, reviewing technical charts and other investment data, and working closely with the lead advisor to evaluate potential changes to the firm’s portfolio models and client allocations.
The remaining responsibilities center on client planning and advisor support, including preparing analysis, maintaining planning work, and participating in client meetings as appropriate.

- Help ensure decisions and recommendations made during client meetings are carried through accurately
- Participate in client meetings as appropriate

As experience and judgment develop, responsibilities may expand to include greater ownership of the portfolio-management process, increased participation in client meetings, presenting investment and planning analysis, handling portions of client reviews, and taking greater responsibility for selected client relationships.
The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, curious, and genuinely interested in both investments and financial planning.
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys following markets, reviewing charts, analyzing investments, and understanding how portfolio decisions fit within a client’s broader financial life.
Strong candidates will likely have experience or interest in portfolio management, investment research, technical analysis, financial planning, tax-aware planning, retirement planning, behavioral finance, Excel and financial modeling, portfolio analytics, and financial-planning software.
