Job Requirements Uniformed Security Officers are responsible for protecting the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, students, and visitors against criminal activity, accidents, fires, and natural disasters, while providing outstanding customer service. Schedule Monday through Friday, various days, part time 0700‑1900. Compensation Rate of pay: $20.00 per hour. Location Sparta, MI. Job Duties Guard posts at entry/exit points of client buildings and grounds. Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior and exterior areas to ensure a safe and secure environment. Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas. Check employee, vendor, and visitor identification. Look for suspicious persons, packages, and activities. Follow site‑specific post guidelines. Document daily activities and report all incidents. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Those performing armed security work must be at least 21 years old and hold a Michigan CPL or LEOSA card. Must not have been convicted of any felonies or misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances, or two or more alcohol‑related offenses. Must pass a drug screening at the time of hire and on a random basis thereafter. Must adhere to company Uniform and Appearance policy and present a friendly, positive, and professional image. Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to de‑escalate situations non‑confrontationally and fluently read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certification and be able to administer this care in emergencies. Must be physically able to run short distances, sit, stand, and walk long distances (8‑12 hours) and lift up to 50 pounds (70 pounds if armed). Must work indoors or outdoors during all seasons and be able to hear conversations in noisy environments. Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision. Benefits Part‑time benefit package offered annually in November to eligible employees who have been employed for at least one year and maintain an average of 20+ hours per week. Benefits may become ineligible if availability for work changes and the employee cannot be scheduled for the required number of hours. Education Requirements (All): High School Diploma or GED.
