Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Cardiovascular registered nurse (RN) position available in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac conditions. The RN will be responsible for maintaining patient safety and managing critical procedures in a fast-paced environment on night shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 0 years of experience; active license in state or jurisdiction; certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Two years of ICU experience, patient ratio experience of 1:2, experience with Epic charting system, and prior community hospital, LTAC, trauma level I or II experience preferred.
• Skills: Arterial line management, care of the patient on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), isolation precautions/PPE, management of multisystem organ failure, nurse-driven ECMO protocols, PICC line management, post-cardiac surgery care, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Community Hospital Experience: Preferred but not required.
• Additional Information:
  • Staffing & Scheduling: Shift hours are 12-hour nights with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Patient Age Groups: Adults and geriatrics.
  • Daily Census: 7 patients.
  • Number of Beds: 10.
  • Interdisciplinary Support: IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation.
  • Travel Experience Required: Yes.
  • UT Travel Compliance: Residing in specific counties not eligible.
  • Onboarding & Modules: Core items/labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; onsite modules during orientation, average 4-6 hours for registered nurses.
