Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – The Meadows Psychiatric Center

The Meadows Psychiatric Center (MPC) is a 117‑bed behavioral health hospital located in Centre Hall, PA, on a 52‑acre campus. This role leads the organization’s day‑to‑day operations, staff development, quality care, and financial health while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and CMS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a culture aligned with the organization’s mission, vision and values.
• Operationally manage clinical and non‑clinical departments—including Nursing, Admissions, Business Development, Process Improvement, Finance, Clinical Services, and Regulatory Affairs—to drive patient outcomes.
• Ensure hospital quality metrics are met through sound clinical processes and adherence to accreditation and regulatory guidelines.
• Recruit physicians and staff in targeted specialty areas, coordinate medical‑staff participation in new hospital ventures, and develop new areas of medical care.
• Supervise development of comprehensive outpatient care and ambulatory programs; build positive relationships with local industry, government, and the community.
• Submit timely month‑end financial and operational reviews; participate in corporate‑wide strategic planning.
• Communicate operational circumstances and events to stakeholders.
• Achieve budgeted financial objectives and manage contract negotiations with the commercial payor community.
• Increase revenues and income, reduce bad‑debt rates, and control operating costs in staffing, supplies and purchased services.
• Focus on census‑building efforts and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Current or prior experience as a behavioral health executive (CEO or equivalent) or as a director of a large acute‑care facility with a substantial psychiatric department.
• Working knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.
• Advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and accreditation requirements specific to behavioral health.
• Knowledge of operations, financial management, and marketing methods.
• Ability to travel at least 10% of the time.
