About the Teller Role Teller is the frontline ambassador of Trustco Bank, delivering exceptional customer service with professionalism and integrity. This pivotal role combines precision, efficiency, and a commitment to safeguarding our clients’ financial privacy. As a trusted representative, you will facilitate seamless banking transactions while upholding the highest standard of operational security and compliance. Key Responsibilities Customer Transactions: Accurately and efficiently process deposits, check cashing, and withdrawals, verifying cash and endorsements, and issuing receipts with meticulous attention to detail. Product & Service Promotion: Cross‑sell and educate clients on the Bank’s diverse financial products and services, enhancing client relationships and fostering financial wellness. Payment Processing: Handle credit card payments, issue money orders, bank checks, and accept loan payments, ensuring accuracy and security. Secure Handling of Assets: Manage night deposit bags, admit clients to safe deposit boxes, and maintain confidentiality and security at all times. Client Support & Inquiries: Respond promptly to customer questions, provide account balances, and assist with general banking needs, cultivating a welcoming environment. Reconciliation & Record Keeping: Perform end‑of‑day balancing of transactions, verify cash totals, and reconcile Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). Maintain detailed reports and logs to ensure compliance and accurate record retention. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or equivalent Proven experience in customer service and cash handling Strong verbal communication skills Fluent in English; bilingual a plus Access to reliable transportation Highly organized with exceptional multitasking abilities Ability to thrive in small team environments Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development Ability to lift 10–20 lbs., stand for extended periods. Preferred Previous banking or financial services experience. Schedule Mon & Wed: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Tue: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM Thu–Fri: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM Sat: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM (rotating schedule) Sun: Closed Employees may need to remain 15–30 minutes after closing.
