Senior Software Developer (Equities Investment Technology)

A leading investment organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the development of business-critical applications used by investment professionals, analysts, and operational teams. This role will focus on building scalable applications, enhancing data platforms, improving workflow automation, and delivering technology solutions that drive better business outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills, data expertise, and the ability to partner directly with business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable technology solutions. What You'll Tackle: Architect, design, and develop scalable applications supporting business-critical workflows. Build and enhance applications that improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and data accessibility. Own the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment and ongoing support. Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Develop high-quality, testable, and efficient code using modern software engineering practices. Design and maintain data pipelines, data models, and integration workflows. Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate closely with business users, analysts, product teams, and engineers. Leverage AI-enabled technologies and automation frameworks to improve workflows and productivity. Contribute to DevOps, CI/CD, observability, and engineering excellence initiatives. Support modernization efforts across applications, data platforms, and cloud environments. What You Bring: 5–10 years of software development experience. Strong backend engineering experience using Python, Java, C++, or similar technologies. Experience designing scalable architectures and high-performance applications. Strong expertise in SQL, ETL development, data pipelines, and data modeling. Experience working within financial services, investment management, or capital markets environments. Familiarity with transaction processing, investment workflows, or enterprise business systems. Experience with modern database technologies and performance optimization. Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Nice to Have: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Experience with containerization technologies including Kubernetes or OpenShift. Exposure to AI, machine learning, large language models (LLMs), or intelligent automation frameworks. Understanding of investment management, capital markets, or financial analytics workflows. Experience supporting enterprise-scale data platforms and analytics environments.
