Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN plays a critical part in patient care, emphasizing patient safety and effective communication within the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information during Initial Team Conferences and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and deliver direct patient care based on identified healthcare needs.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission, including patient education tailored to discharge needs.
• Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel while effectively managing time and resources.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning by fostering a supportive team environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Engage in professional development through ongoing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (for specific locations).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position is for Day Shift, working 3x12 hour shifts.
